St Peter and St Mary Fishbourne
Welcome to St Peter and St Mary Fishbourne. Christians have worshipped on this site for more than
750 years. The site overlooking Fishbourne creek formed part of a busy harbour since Roman times, and probably earlier.

Palm Sunday/Holy Week and Easter.
What a lot to celebrate. As Lent comes to an end we enter the most Holy week of the year. During these next few days we are invited to take a special journey with Jesus, to the cross and then beyond.
We begin on Palm Sunday, on the 13th April, when we will have our usual procession into church at Fishbourne. Please do meet in the car park at 9.15, we hope to have our guest ‘donkey’ again as we join with churches all over the world to sing, Hosanna to the Son of David.
Then on Thursday 17th we gather in the upper room, to re-enact the Last Supper. Feet will be washed, reminding us all that we are called to serve one another, we will gather at the Altar to receive Holy Communion, and then the church is stripped to represent the disciples running away. This is a powerful and emotional act to witness, which leads us into Good Friday.
In the morning at 10.00 a.m. we will once again watch the children and young people as they act out the final journey Jesus took. All children are invited to take part; there will be a rehearsal on Saturday 12th, 4 p.m. at Fishbourne Church.
And at 2pm, we celebrate the cross, in wood, word and sacrament, this service is just one hour long so please do make a real effort to be there so that we may all be Easter people on Sunday 20th when we celebrate The Resurrection of Christ.
The whole of this week is really one story, broken down so that we can experience each part, and fully comprehend just how much God loves each one of us.

The St Peter Project.
For many years it has been the desire of Fishbourne Parish Church, near Chichester, to sell the old church hall in Mill Lane and build a new church hall on ground which adjoins the Church.Whilst at times progress has been slow, as planning and legal issues were dealt with, planning permission has now been granted on both sites. In time the existing church hall will be sold and funding permitting, the new church hall can be constructed. More >>
Our New Junior Choir
Calling all Young people, do you enjoy singing! If so very soon we will be forming a junior choir at Fishbourne and hope that as many of you as possible will be able to come along, enjoy the practises and then take part in services and various other exciting events. Further details will follow, but please do talk to your parents about this.
Using our Talents to Build God's Church.
Would you like to be a little more involved in the life of our church, have you a talent that we do not know about, can you offer a little of your time so that together we can continue to build God's church? If you answer yes to any of these, please do pick up a form from the back of church.
